The Off-Broadway revival of “Heathers the Musical” is welcoming a new group of performers to Westerberg High as the production continues its engagement at New World Stages through September.
Aniya Thompson will join the company as Martha Dunnstock beginning July 8, marking her Off-Broadway debut. She succeeds Erin Morton, who originated the role in the revival. Daniel DiPinto began performances as Preppy Stud on June 24.
The latest additions follow a series of casting changes made earlier this year. Isabella Esler joined the production as Veronica Sawyer, while John Cardoza took over the role of J.D. Zan Berube stepped into the role of Heather Chandler, Chris Marsh Clark joined as Ram Sweeney, and Lisa Ann Walter appeared as Ms. Fleming. They succeeded Kuhoo Verma, Casey Likes, Peyton List, Xavier McKinnon, and Kate Rockwell, respectively.

Additional cast changes are set for June 24, when Ava DeMary and Tony Award nominee Jeanette Bayardelle join the production. DeMary will take over the role of Heather McNamara, while Bayardelle will play Ms. Fleming and Veronica’s Mom. Current cast member Elizabeth Teeter is scheduled to play her final performance as Heather McNamara on June 21, while Walter will make her final appearance as Ms. Fleming and Veronica’s Mom on June 22.
The cast also includes Jackera Davis as Heather Duke. Casting is by Rachel Hoffman and Jimmy Larkin of The Telsey Office.

Directed by Andy Fickman, the revival opened on July 10, 2025, and is currently scheduled to run through September 6. The production marks a return to New World Stages, the venue that housed the musical’s original Off-Broadway run. The current staging arrived in New York following a successful engagement at London’s The Other Palace.
The musical premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 before transferring Off-Broadway in 2014. Following its original New York run, writers Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy revised the show for a 2018 West End production. The updated version later toured the U.K. and returned to London, introducing new songs and script revisions that are now being presented in New York for the first time.
