Bruce Springsteen makes his Broadway debut next month, and if you’re one of the many fans who couldn’t score the highly sought-after tickets, you can now enter a blind auction to win them. Fans can submit their bid through the Broadway Cares website, and the highest submissions will become donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and earn bidders one of nine orchestra seats, front and center on opening night.
When Bruce Springsteen announced his residency at Walter Kerr Theatre this fall, performing for an audience of under one thousand, his die-hard fans sold out the shows in minutes. In order to be there at this invitation-only performance on October 12, you must be one of nine of the highest bidders. Bids are blind, meaning you won’t be able to see how much others have donated, but the suggested minimum is $25,000. The rules are as follows:
1. All seats for this blind auction are in the first row, center orchestra.
2. Your bid is per ticket. If you are interested in more than one ticket and you have the winning bid, know that you will be charged for each ticket.
3. Winners will be notified via email and/or phone on Friday. September 22.
4. Winners will need to pick up their ticket in person (with photo ID) at the Broadway Cares office between 11 am and 5 pm on Thursday, October 12.
If you’re feeling generous, try your luck at seeing The Boss on Broadway for a good cause. It certainly is sure to be a special night- no tickets have been sold to the show, and winners are also invited to an opening night party.
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation’s leading industry-based nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations and helps men, women and children across the country and across the street receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance, according to their website.
