K-pop group TWICE will go forward with their upcoming concerts as planned despite ongoing concerns over the coronavirus sweeping parts of Asia.
The all-girl group’s TWICE World Tour Finale performances in Seoul will go on March 7 and 9 as scheduled. However, due to safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus, extra precautions will be taken during the shows.
Organizer JYP Entertainment announced that those who attend the shows at KSPO Dome will have their temperature taken before entering. If a temperature registers higher than 36.5° C (or 97.7° F), patrons will receive required medical attention and receive a full ticket refund if deemed unable to attend. In addition, all staff working the event will wear preventative face masks and gloves, as well as fully disinfect the venue before and after both performances. Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the event.
For fans who want to err on the side of caution, JYP Entertainment revealed that they may cancel their ticket without facing a cancellation fee.
While TWICE are not changing their performance schedule, the widespread coronavirus has taken a severe toll on the live music industry across Asia. Rapper Stormzy postponed his March shows in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China and South Korea, while K-pop acts GOT7, (G)I-DLE, Seventeen, NCT Dream and more have all called off upcoming gigs.
The coronavirus outbreak has caused over 2,000 fatalities from 70,000+ reported cases worldwide.
