Live Nation Canada Expands Community Investment with Scholarships for Downsview Students

Live Nation Canada has awarded four scholarships to students at Downsview Secondary School and Madonna Catholic Secondary School in Toronto, recognizing achievements in leadership and the arts.

The scholarships are divided evenly between the two schools. At each school, one student received a scholarship for demonstrating exceptional leadership, while another was recognized for excellence and dedication in the arts. The awards celebrate students who have contributed to their school communities while pursuing academic success, creativity, and personal growth.

The scholarship program is part of Live Nation Canada’s community investment efforts connected to Rogers Stadium and is intended to support local students as they continue their education after high school.

Wayne Zronik, President of Business Operations at Live Nation Canada shared, “Rogers Stadium is about more than bringing world-class music to Toronto — it’s about being a positive force in the surrounding community.”

“These scholarships recognize students who are not only excelling academically, but who are also making a lasting impact through leadership and creativity,” Zronik continued. “We’re proud to support the next generation of leaders and artists in the Downsview community.”

Faculty members at Downsview Secondary School said the scholarships provide both recognition and financial assistance for students preparing for post-secondary education.

“The Live Nation scholarships are extremely impactful to our student recipients. This recognition not only motivates and inspires our students but gives them some financial relief as them embark on their post-secondary studies,” said Lia D’Andrea, Assistant Curriculum Leader of Arts & Culture at Downsview Secondary School.

D’Andrea said the partnership with Live Nation Canada has also encouraged students to explore careers in the arts and entertainment industry.

“The meaningful relationship that has developed with Live Nation has made an impression on our students. They have shared that they are eager to learn more about opportunities in the arts and entertainment industries and pursue their goals. This is an investment in our future leaders and encourages our students to achieve success. Thank you Live Nation!”

Madonna Catholic Secondary School Principal Kristan McTernan said the scholarships help students pursue opportunities after graduation.

“Our students have big dreams, and this support helps turn those dreams into real opportunities. We’re grateful to Live Nation Canada for recognizing the incredible talent, leadership, and creativity within our school community and for empowering our students to keep discovering what’s possible,” McTernan said.

According to Live Nation Canada, the scholarships are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities surrounding Rogers Stadium. The program aims to create opportunities for local youth by recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and artistic accomplishment while helping students pursue their educational and career goals.
