The Off-Broadway revival of “Heathers” will play its final performance at New World Stages on November 8. The closing date comes after the production received a fourth extension and follows a successful run that began in 2025.
“Heathers” opened Off-Broadway on July 10, 2025, returning to New World Stages, where the musical’s original New York production was staged in 2014. The current production is based on the version that premiered at London’s The Other Palace and includes songs and script revisions that are being presented in New York for the first time.
The cast is led by Isabella Esler as Veronica Sawyer, with Zan Berube as Heather Chandler, John Cardoza as J.D., Ava DeMary as Heather McNamara, Jackera Davis as Heather Duke, Erin Morton as Martha Dunstock, Chris Marsh Clark as Ram Sweeney, Cade Ostermeyer as Kurt Kelly, Jeannette Bayardelle as Ms. Fleming, Adam Bashian as Ram’s Dad, and Jimmy Ray Bennett as Kurt’s Dad.
Aniya Thompson will join the company as Martha Dunstock beginning July 8, succeeding Erin Morton in the role.

Based on the 1988 film of the same name, “Heathers” follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, who finds herself accepted into the school’s most popular clique after befriending the Heathers. Her life changes after meeting the mysterious J.D., leading to a series of increasingly dangerous events.
The musical features music, lyrics, and a book by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy. It premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 before transferring to New World Stages in 2014 under the direction of Andy Fickman. The creative team revised the show for its 2018 West End production, introducing new songs and script updates that later appeared on two national tours and during a return engagement in London. Those changes are now part of the current Off-Broadway production.
Fickman directs the revival and reunited much of the creative team from the London production, including choreographer Gary Lloyd. Additional choreography is by Stephanie Klemons. David Shields serves as set and costume designer, with Siena Zoë Allen as co-costume designer. The creative team also includes lighting designer Ben Cracknell and sound designer Dan Samson.
