Carín León is bringing a new live music experience to his hometown this spring.
The Mexican singer-songwriter has announced the launch of La Cura Fest, a two-day festival set for March 14 and 15 at Expogan in Hermosillo, Sonora. The inaugural event will be headlined by Alejandro Sanz, Jelly Roll, and Grupo Frontera.
The festival marks a major milestone for León, who is hosting and curating a multi-artist event for the first time in his career. In addition to overseeing the lineup, León will also take the stage both nights.
The opening night will feature performances from Spanish pop icon Alejandro Sanz, American country-rap artist Jelly Roll, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García, indie folk artist Kevin Kaarl, and country band Midland, alongside León himself.
On the second night, Grupo Frontera joins the lineup, replacing Jelly Roll, while the rest of the artists return for another evening of music.
Organizers have confirmed that additional performers for both days will be revealed closer to the event. The main stage will be located at Expogan, while a secondary stage will operate out of Palenque, offering fans multiple performance spaces throughout the festival grounds.
When the festival was first announced in December, León shared, “This festival is a way to open up my heart and share what I’ve kept close, right here in my homeland and with my people.”
“We invited folks I admire and respect to create a party where music feels free, without borders. Hermosillo has been asking for a night like this… to catch the vibe together and make some noise from the soul,” León continued.
