Oak View Group, Mountain America Credit Union Announce Naming Rights Deal for Draper Event Center

Oak View Group and Mountain America Credit Union have announced a multi-year naming rights agreement for the new 5,000-seat event center planned as part of The Point development in Draper, Utah. Under the deal, the venue will be named the Mountain America Event Center.

The announcement coincides with the start of Phase One construction at The Point, a master-planned mixed-use development being built through a partnership between the Point of the Mountain State Land Authority and The Point Partners, a joint venture between Lincoln Property Company, Colmena Group and Wadsworth Development Group. 

“The strongest naming rights partnerships are built on a shared vision and a commitment to the communities they serve,” said Dan Griffis, President of Oak View Group Global Partnerships. 

“Mountain America Credit Union is a respected community leader and an ideal partner for this event center, which is the largest of its kind in the South Salt Lake Valley,” Griffis continued. “This sponsorship goes beyond a name on a building, it represents an investment in delivering exceptional experiences and making a lasting impact throughout the greater region for years to come.”

Sterling Nielsen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mountain America Credit Union, said the venue will play an important role in the state’s largest development project.

The naming rights agreement was completed by OVG Global Partnerships, Oak View Group’s sponsorship and naming rights division. Oak View Group will also oversee management and sponsorship sales for the venue, while OVG Hospitality will provide food and beverage operations and catering services.

In addition to the Mountain America Event Center, Phase One of The Point will include a 363-unit multifamily residential development, 425,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and The Promenade, a 2,000-foot pedestrian street designed to serve as the development’s central destination for dining, shopping and community gatherings.
