WWE Brings NXT Heatwave, Lucha Libre AAA Doubleheader to Texas This August

WWE is bringing a full day of wrestling action to South Texas this summer, announcing that Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas will host a double-feature event featuring NXT Heatwave and Lucha Libre AAA on Sunday, Aug. 30.

The announcement was made during Sunday’s NXT Great American Bash, with both events included under a single admission ticket.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 8 at 10 a.m. local time through AXS, while an exclusive presale begins Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can register through WWE to receive presale access.

The day kicks off with Lucha Libre AAA at 11 a.m. CT, featuring a lineup that includes El Grande Americano, La Parka, La Catalina, Mr. Iguana, El Hijo del Vikingo, Omos, Psycho Clown, El Hijo Dr. Wagner Jr., and Galeno del Mal, with additional talent expected to be announced. The event will stream on YouTube in the United States and air on FOX across Mexico, Central America, and South America, excluding Brazil.

Immediately following AAA, WWE’s NXT Heatwave premium live event will take center stage. The card is slated to feature NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey, NXT North American Champion Myles Borne, NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria, and NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project, among other NXT stars.

NXT Heatwave will air at 3 p.m. ET, broadcasting on The CW in the United States and Netflix internationally.

The announcement continues WWE’s growing collaboration with Lucha Libre AAA, following the company’s acquisition of the iconic Mexican promotion earlier this year. The Edinburg event marks another high-profile crossover showcasing talent from both brands under one roof as WWE expands its international wrestling footprint.
