Ahead of her highly-anticipated seventh studio album, Taylor Swift will perform a special concert in New York City’s Central Park that will be streamed on Good Morning America.
This isn’t super surprising news, as Swift’s songs are regularly played during the morning show’s opening credits. The show is set to take place on August 22, one day before the album drops. GMA co-host Michael Strahan said that Swift will be playing her newest hits during the gig.
“It’s the day before her album Lover is released, and all of you can have a front row seat,” he said. “Taylor is a great friend of GMA, we’re looking forward to this without a doubt.”
The news was announced this morning on GMA.

In an accompanying video, Swift said that she “can’t wait” to perform in Central Park – a staple within Manhattan. Fans hoping to catch the gig will have to look out for ticket info, which GMA said would be announced in the next few days.
Earlier this month, Swift performed another special gig for Amazon Prime Day with openers Dua Lipa, SZA, and Becky G. These one-off performances are likely to help promote her forthcoming album, Lover. The LP is set to include include bubbly, fun tracks “You Need To Calm Down,” and “Me!” with Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie, as well as the new track “The Archer.” Lover is due August 23 via Republic Records and will follow her highly successful 2017 record Reputation.
